El certamen, cuya primera edici\u00f3n se llev\u00f3 a cabo en 1956,Teniente Coronel John Churchill Pearson, Tercer Vizconde Cowdray y el gran impulsor del retorno del polo competitivo a Inglaterra tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Aquella primera edici\u00f3n el campe\u00f3n la gan\u00f3 un equipo argentino, Los Indios, con Jorge Marin Mareno, Pablo Nagore, Antonio Heguy y Juan Carlos Harriott (padre).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La versi\u00f3n 2024 del British Open contar\u00e1 con la presencia de dieciocho equipos de hasta 22 goles de handicap, divididos en cuatro zonas, que incluye como cabeza de serie a los cuatro equipos semifinalistas de la Queen&#8217;s Cup.
