Kaia venci\u00f3 a Flying H por 13-10, y se adjudic\u00f3 la Iglehart Cup, el tercer torneo de la NPC 16-Goal Championship, cuya final se realiz\u00f3 el martes 17 de marzo<\/strong> en el National Polo Center, en Wellington, Florida, Estados Unidos. El certamen cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de de trece equipos de hasta 16 goles de handicap, dividos en tres zonas.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Vale recordar que resta solo una competencia de la serie, la Outback Cup, cuyo comienzo est\u00e1 previsto para el mi\u00e9rcoles 18 de marzo<\/strong>; la Outback Cup es el \u00faltimo torneo de la serie, previo a la gran final de la NPC 16-Goal Championship, la cual se jugar\u00e1 el domingo 12 de abril<\/strong> en el National Polo Center (NPC).<\/p>\n

En cuanto a la final, Kaia y Flying H tuvieron un arranque muy parejo, aunque con una leve ventaja para el primero; las cosas iban a cambiar a partir del tercero, cuando Kaia comenz\u00f3 a sacar notables diferencias, sobre todo en el tercer chukker, el que gan\u00f3 por 3-0, para cerrar el half time 7-3 arriba. Durante el resto del partido, Kaia continu\u00f3 avanzando en el marcador, hasta sellar la victoria final por 13-10, que les permiti\u00f3 llevarse la tercera copa de la NPC 16-Goal Championship.<\/p>\n

La Iglehart Cup debe su nombre a Philip L.B. Iglehart, quien comenz\u00f3 a jugar al polo desde chico, cuando era alumno de la Aiken Preparatory School, en North Carolina, desde donde pas\u00f3 a la St. Paul’s School, en New Hampshire, siguiendo posteriormente con sus estudios universitarios en Yale University, en Connecticut. Iglehart lleg\u00f3 a los 7 goles de handicap y tras 20 a\u00f1os como jugador decidi\u00f3 retirarse para continuar su actividad en los negocios. Entre sus logros, gan\u00f3 el US Open, en 1953; fue miembro activo de Meadowbrook Polo Club, en Medford, New York, y es el fundador de Gulfstream Polo Club, en Lake Worth, Florida, que hoy ya no existe. Philip Iglehart fue ingresado al Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame en 1993, y no solo eso – uno de los premios m\u00e1s importantes de la exclusiva ceremonia anual lleva su nombre. El Philip Iglehart Award se entrega desde 2001, en reconocimiento a aquellos que hicieron valiosos aportes al polo.<\/em><\/p>\n
