El martes 23 de junio<\/strong>, Akasha y Gaston fueron los dos primeros ganadores de la\u00a0St. Regis British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, el torneo m\u00e1s importante de la temporada en Inglaterra, organizado por el legendario Cowdray Park Polo Club, en Midhurst, West Sussex. Uno de los tres Grand Slams del polo, junto al Abierto Argentino y el US Op, el certamen, cuenta con la presencia de diecinueve equipos de hasta 22 goles de handicap.<\/p>\n

En el primer encuentro de la jornada, Akasha se impuso a\u00a0 White Crane por 14-11. Luego de un 3-2 favorable a White Crane en el primer chukker, Akasha tom\u00f3 la delantera (6-5) en el segundo parcial, aunque el partido segu\u00eda siendo parejo. Reci\u00e9n en el tercer chukker, Akasha logr\u00f3 despegarse de su rival, cerrando el half time 9-6 arriba, y aumentando su ventaja durante la segunda mitad, hasta llevarse la victoria. El ganador recibi\u00f3 el Carlos Gracida Memorial Trophy, el tributo al extraordinario e inolvidable jugador mexicano.<\/p>\n

A continuaci\u00f3n lleg\u00f3 el turno de Gaston vs. Jehangiri, en un partido muy ajustado, que lleg\u00f3 al cuarto chukker empatado 8-8. Gaston consigui\u00f3 despegarse en los dos \u00faltimos parciales, para quedarse con su primer triunfo por 12-10<\/p>\n
